RV Travels

Hello everyone!

I don’t know about you all, but Covid-19 quarantining gave me cabin fever. My sweet husband decided to purchase an RV to give us a safe way to travel during the pandemic. I have to say, I had my doubts about how much I would like this idea. I can honestly say after returning from our first trip, I absolutely loved it! I did not realize how many perks there are to traveling in an RV and keeping the germs away.

Our trip started in Louisville, Kentucky with a visit to the Ark Encounter. If you have not been to the Ark Encounter I highly recommend it. The Ark is built to the exact measurements that the Lord told Noah to build in the book of Genesis. Amazing!

Next, we traveled down through the Smokey Mountains to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina. While in Asheville we stayed in Lake Powhatan Campground in the National Forest. Our RV spot was surrounded by the beautiful forest in the mountains. You could really smell the fresh mountain air while listening to the trees sway in the wind. The sound of wild turkeys and birds singing was very relaxing, not to mention the nightly campfires and s’mores! We were able to make an appointment and tour the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. This is another wonderful American treasure to see if you have not. All ages will enjoy this magnificent estate along with the beautiful gardens that surround it. You can shop and eat an amazing meal while touring the estate. I hated to leave beautiful Asheville, but all good things must end, right?

Our next stop was in Auburn, Alabama. Chewacla State Park in Auburn is where we stayed for our final night. Chewacla did not disappoint. Similar to the forest in Asheville, Auburn was beautiful. While in Auburn we ate some amazing Alabama barbeque at “Jim “N Nick’s Bar-B-Q”; yummy. We had a smooth drive back to our great state of Texas. I encourage you to take the time and get away when you can and relax with those you love!

Happy Trails!
