Susan and I had been trying to decide how to landscape our property for a long time. Then we saw this picture on the internet. We wanted plants and trees that were not toxic to puppies and would offer privacy. This was perfect …a “Bamboo Forrest”. We preferred the aggressive bamboo. This type of bamboo grows completely vertical; however, it requires a bamboo shield to be installed to keep the bamboo from spreading beyond the area you have designated. The bamboo shield is a patented product that is installed with a 3-foot trench around the bamboo areas. Our bamboo should reach a 30-feet height next summer. We installed it around the perimeter of our property and used it to accent walkways. Here are some pictures.
